With our Christmas Market in full swing, we are getting to know a few of our wonderful sellers to learn more about their products and really grasp how important it is to source local presents this year.
Next on the nice list is Jess from JessiCards and Crafts, a crafting business who love adding a personalised touch to their stunning products. Continue reading to discover what Jess loves most about her job, her most popular product and who she will be supporting this Christmas.
1. Can you tell us a little bit about your business?
“JessiCards and Crafts is a craft business based in Cove. I pride myself on providing hand crafted cards and gifts to help you deliver a personal message in a special and unique way.”
2. When and why did you start your business?
“The business was started in 2016 after finding a love for all things crafty during my own wedding planning.”
3. What’s the most popular product you sell?
“The most popular item we sell is our personalised champagne flutes. These are bought for milestone birthdays and are personalised with the recipient’s age and name. They are finished with tulle and glittered rose gold font - they really are beautiful!”
4. What do you love the most about your work?
“I love every aspect of my job. The fact I can work from home and choose my own hours, the wonderful customers I get to meet, and the fact I can have fun with my creativity on a daily basis.”
5. Why do you think it’s so important to support local at Christmas?
“I think it’s so important to support local at Christmas as these small businesses also have families, homes, and bills to look after and pay. Your support throughout the year means everything, but at Christmas it really gives you a boost when people choose to buy your products to gift to others. I also think it is so wonderful receiving a gift with a lot of thought and effort behind it, which is something a small business owner can provide.”
6. What do you love most about Christmas?
“Christmas to me really isn’t about the gifts, it’s about the magical feeling of coming together and all sharing the same excitement. It’s knowing that for one day of the year, you can be with those you love most, eat what you want, and enjoy making memories.”
7. What local suppliers will you be supporting this Christmas?
“This Christmas, I will be buying our meat and fine foods from Meet the Meat in Cove. They have a great range of products and can help cater for every aspect of Christmas.
“I’ve used Paperoo for my son's letter from Santa which he was absolutely delighted with. We’ve ordered some Christmas Eve treats from the Cupcake Stop and I’m currently working my way through the local businesses on abz.life to see what gifts I can buy for family and friends!”
