Our psychotherapy services are customised to meet the specific needs of each client or group of clients. We work collaboratively throughout the entire counselling process to ensure client goals are met with demonstrable results using CBT which is evidenced based practice. Cognitive-behavioural therapy, an approach which suggests the way that we think and interpret situations has an impact on how we feel and behave. CBT focuses on current difficulties with a view to changing the ‘here and now’ rather than spending time looking to the past for causes of distress. CBT is usually shorter in duration, often between 6-12 sessions. The client is expected to take a more active role in therapy by applying the new skills and techniques learned to help makes changes to thoughts and behaviours. There is evidence to support the effects of CBT with a variety of problems such as depression, anxiety, phobias, stress, panic disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder. However, this type of therapy may not suit everyone as there is a need for you to apply the techniques offered and undertake some work yourself. We can use additional methods to support so please contact us to find out how we can help.

Having had no experience about this kind of therapy prior to this, I had no idea what to expect. I have never felt anything but supported and positive about what has happened, even when certain interventions were uncomfortable. I am now a wholehearted supporter of CBT and would recommend MOONSTIR to anyone in need.
